Halifax pedestrians and cyclist injured in 3 separate collisions

Three people were injured in three separatecollisions in Halifax on Saturday, according to the Halifax Regional Police.

At around 5:19 p.m. police say a 25-year-old cyclistwas hit by a car at the intersection of Mumford Road and Olivet Street.

Police say the car's 56-year-old driver was pulling on to Mumford Road when she struck the cyclist.

The woman on the bicycle suffered an injury to her leg and was taken to hospital.

No charges have been laid and police say the incident is still under investigation.

A short time later at around 6:00 p.m. a 32-year-old woman was struck by a car while running through a markedcross walk on University Avenue.

The impact fromthe car threw the woman to the ground. Police say she had scrapes and bruises and was taken to hospital.

The police investigation is ongoing and so far no charges have been laid.

There was another collision about 40 minutes later at the intersection of Clifton Street and North Street.

A 28-year-old man was struck by a car while in theintersection's crosswalk.

Police say the man's ankle was broken and he was taken to hospital.

The 35-year-old woman who was driving the car was given a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
