Not much accumulation on the way with a storm expected to hit Nova Scotia on Saturday, but the precipitation will be a nasty mix of rain, freezing rain, ice pellets and snow.

A ridge of high pressure that crossed over the Maritimes last night made for a mainly clear andcold night, providing a mostly sunny day Friday.

Nowthat the weekend is upon us, you might be thinking of cleaning up snow fromWednesday. But tomorrow will not be the best day for that.

An area of low pressure another Alberta Clipper will get together with a disturbance moving north along the Americanseaboard to our southwest. Thetwo features will combine and intensify then track along tothe east just south of Nova Scotia during the day on Saturday.

However, it will push itsprecipitation into the Maritimes starting around midday Saturday, in southwestern NewBrunswick and southwestern Nova Scotia.

It will be a day of mixed precipitation, fromtreacherous freezing rain to ice pellets, rain and snow.

The snow will spreadacross most of the Maritimesaccompanied by a moderate strong east-to-northeast wind. Snow will then changeto rain or showers with freezing rain in the changeover.

There's another risk of freezing rain later on Saturday in southern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Snowfall will be slight.

Sunday will see temperatures turn colder, again, with some fair weather returning.
