RCMP search for missing former Hells Angel

The RCMP are searching a house on Onslow Mountain in Colchester County in relation to Randy Mersereau, a former Hells Angel,who disappeared 11 years ago.

RCMP said they are looking for evidence in connection to his disappearance.They won't say if they are looking for his body.

They said this search was initiated as the result of information brought forward to investigators.

"Missing persons investigations in the province of Nova Scotia remain open, and are regularly reviewed. The information which came to light brought us to this residence and the property in order to conduct the search," RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger said Thursday.

On scene is an RCMP Command Centre, the Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit, members of the Bible Hill RCMP detachment, and the Forensic Identification Unit.

Leger said anyone with information should contact police.

"Every single piece of information is vital, and a person may be holding just the one piece that may assist investigators in finding the person or persons responsible for this event," she said.

Mersereau was last seen on the Halloween weekend in 1999 in the Truro and Shubenacadie area.

The 48-year-old former Hells Angel disappeared a month after he was allegedly the target of a mysterious bomb blast at a used car dealership in Bible Hill. Police found his abandoned car along Highway 102, between Halifax and Truro.

Mersereau was alleged to have been involved in a drug war with the Angels.

In September 2000, his brother, Kirk Mersereau, was murdered in Centre Burlington, about 24 kilometres from Windsor, N.S.

At the time, investigators believed Kirk Mersereau was the victim of a planned and possibly professional killing.
