Police in Nova Scotia's Cape Breton island are investigating a pair of suspicious fires.

Police in Nova Scotia are investigating a pair of suspicious fires that happened this week in Cape Breton.

Investigators say they were called to an apartment complex on Bentinck Street in Sydney early Thursday morning after a fire broke out.

Police say there were no injuries, but the building was significantly damaged.

On Wednesday, police were on the scene of a fire at a vacant home on Tobin Road in North Sydney.

Police say an arson unit is investigating both fires.
