Toddler drowns in inflatable pool

A toddler drowned in a pool at her grandparents' home outside Windsor on Tuesday afternoon, RCMP say.

A toddler drowned in a pool at her grandparents' home outside Windsor onTuesday afternoon, RCMP in Nova Scotia say.

The 2-year-old disappeared briefly, only to be found in an inflatable pool on the property in Garlands Crossing.

The little girl was not breathing. RCMP arrived and the toddler was rushed to Hants Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Const. George Cameron said the girl's death is an unfortunate reminder for adults to supervise children.

"We would just like to remind people that leaving a child unattended near a swimming pool is just very, very dangerous, as we unfortunately found out yesterday," he told CBC News on Wednesday.

Cameron said the investigation is closed and the child's name will not be released.
