Canada-wide warrant issued for suspect in shooting deaths

Police have issued a Canada-wide arrestwarrant for an Ottawa man in connection with three shootings earlier this week that left two men dead and a third in hospital with serious injuries.

Alam Gabriel Buoc, 29, is wanted on two charges of first-degree murder and one charge of attempted murder.

Buoc is considered armed and dangerous, police said Wednesday afternoon.

"He still has a weapon in his possession. So if he is seen, please contact police," said Const. Chuck Benoit, spokesman for the Ottawa Police Service.

Police have no specific information that Buoc has left Ottawa, Benoit said, but the warrant allows other police forces to act quickly if he's spotted in their jurisdictions.

Bodies found Monday

Early Monday morning, around 7:10 a.m.,a man with multiple gunshot wounds arrived attheQueenswayCarleton Hospital, according to police.

While officers were investigating that first shooting, which happened in theElmhurst Parkarea not far from the Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre, the body of another man was discovered nearby.

He has been identified as26-year-old Abdurahman Al-Shammari of Ottawa.

Later in the day, police were called to the intersection of Aylenand Wayne avenues afterresidents reported an abandoned car with its engine still running.

Police found a man who had been shot to death inside the vehicle. He was later identified as Dirie Olol, 26, also of Ottawa.

Previous convictions

Buoc is described as six-foot-four, weighing 201 pounds, and possessinga thin build and short black hair.

His criminal history includes at least 11 previous convictions, including three on weapons-related charges andone for drug possession.

Buoc has also been convicted twice for assault, with one conviction involving an assault against a police officer.
