This past February, a 26-year-old woman was killed by a transport truck on the corner of Rideau and Waller Streets.Community associations say she is one of 10 pedestrians killed and dozens more injured in the area of Rideau Street and King Edward Avenue in just the past decade.

Incumbent Mathieu Fleury says the city is working on solutions, and pointed to a one-year study looking at the feasibility of a tunnel to connect Highway 417 and the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.

But as Simon Gardner reports in the video above, other candidates are looking for more immediate solutions.
