Devontay Hackett, 18, wanted on charge of 2nd-degree murder

Devontay Hackett, an 18-year-old Ottawa man, is wanted by police in connection with the June 7 stabbing death of Brandon Volpi outside of a downtown hotel.

Devontay Hackett, an 18-year-old Ottawa man, is wanted by police in connection with the June 7 stabbing death of Brandon Volpi outside of a downtown Ottawa hotel.

Hackett is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, and Ottawa police say he could still be in Ottawa.

He is facing a single charge of second-degree murder.

Hackettis described by policeas a lightbrown-skinned man, standing six feet tall and weighing135 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Hackett's whereabouts or the Saturday incidentis asked to call the major crimes unit at 613-236-1222, extension5493, or Crime Stoppers 613-233-8477.

Volpi, also 18, was found stabbed outside of Les Suites Hotel on Besserer StreetearlySaturday morning.

Students from three Catholic high schools in the city's south end St. Joseph's,St. Pius X and St. Patrick's were staying at the hotel that night, celebrating graduation.
