Fewer icicles on Ottawa homes, but big ones still pose risk

As temperatures approach 0 degrees Celcius, Hallie Cotnam took a look at what has accumulated on the city's buildings after months of bitter cold.

Fewer thaw-freeze cycles this winter have meant fewer icicle problems this winter, but as temperatures approach zero degrees Celcius on Wednesday,Ottawa homeowners might want to keep an eye on any nasty surprises hanging from above.

The temperature on Wednesday is expected to rise to zero C before dropping again at night to -16 C. Thursday will remain cold with a high of -10 C, but by Sunday the temperature is expected to rise to a high of 1 C.
