Hammer found at scene of Ottawa's 6th homicide of 2014

A hammer was recovered from the Sawmill Creek Reservoir where the body of a man was found lying in the brush off a path with obvious signs of trauma Thursday morning, CBC News has learned.

Police are still looking for evidence in the city's sixth homicide of 2014. The victim has not yet been identified.

A hammer was recovered from the Sawmill Creek Reservoir where the body of a man was found lying in the brush off a path with obvious signs of trauma Thursday morning, CBC News has learned.

Ottawa police are also reviewing surveillance footage from the nearby Greenboro and South Keys Transitway stations.

Police believe they know who the victim is but are still waiting on results of his autopsy before releasing his identity.

A cyclist discovered thebody on a path between the Airport Parkway and the South Keys Transitway stationaround 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

It's Ottawa's sixth homicide of 2014.
