Mont Cascades waterpark evacuated after man allegedly points gun at employee

The Mont Cascades waterpark in Cantley, Que., was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a man allegedly pointeda suspected long gun at an employee, police said.

The Mont Cascades waterpark in Cantley, Que., was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a man allegedly pointeda suspected long gun at an employee of the popular summer attraction, police said.

About a dozen police officers blocked roads around the perimeter of the waterparkwhich doubles as a ski hill in the winter as they searched for two suspects,Sgt.Dominic Robitailleof theMRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police told reporters.

Robitaillesaid police received a 911 call around 4 p.m. reporting that two men were seen near a slide in the park, one of whomwas pointing what looked like a rifle at a young woman. Witnesses told police the two men left after pointing the gun at the employee, he said.

Noshots were fired and no one is injured.Police don't know if the gun isreal or a replica.

Robitaille said officers have a description of one of the men involved, but they are unsure if it is of the man who was holding the gun.

The description is of awhite male between the ages of30 to 40 years old. The suspect has brown orblack hair,a dark complexion and a beard, according to the police description. He was wearing greencamouflage-style shorts, a blue T-shirt and was speaking English.

Shortly after 8 p.m.,Robitaillesaid police hadreopened roads in the area and called off the search. Officers hadn't found either of the two men when night began to fall, but the investigation continues.
