Police said a woman in her 20s told them an unknown man followed her into an elevator at about 5 a.m. The woman said the man then exposed himself to her and sexually assaulted her inside the elevator.

The woman told police she escaped the elevator when the doors opened and ran towards an apartment, but the man also attempted to enter the unit. He soon fled when he could not get inside, she added.

The man is described as being of Middle-Eastern descent, in his 20s, slim with curly short black hair, dark eyes and a beard.

The man was also wearing dark jogging pants, a dark sweater and baseball cap, plus he smelled of alcohol, the woman told police.
