The heat will stay with us, but the humidity should clear out.

Environment Canada is predicting a high near 28 C today, but it should be much more tolerable with humidity only adding a few perceived degrees.

There is a 30 per cent chance of scattered showers or thundershowers late this afternoon and early this evening in the capital and places such as Maniwaki and Brockville,so it might be worth packing an umbrella or rain jacket.

Early this afternoonEnvironment Canada said a funnel cloud had been spotted in Clarence-Rockland and warned people in the Prescott-Russell, Ottawa and Cornwall areas of the possibility that a weak tornado may form.

There are no tornado warnings.

No rain is expected in the Kingston and Pembroke areas (it reallyisscattered).

The rest of the week looks good, with sunny skies, warm days and cool nights to start August.

The next risk of rain for Ottawa-Gatineau comes on Monday.
