Incumbent and runner-up face off again in Orleans South-Navan

After Stephen Blais left the council seat to become an MPP, Catherine Kitts won in a byelection.

3 candidates are running for the newly named council seat in Ward 19

When former councillor Stephen Blaisvacated the council seat for Ward 19 in 2020, Catherine Kitts was sent to city hall to represent Cumberland.

The ward boundaries have been re-drawn for the 2022 election and given the new nameOrleans South-Navan.

Kitts won the byelectionwith a majority of the votes in a crowded field of candidates, while Yvette Ashiri came in second, with 22 per cent of the votes. The two women will be on the ballot again this fall, joined by Shamsa Sheikh Ahmed.
