Ottawa shooting leads to tighter Remembrance Day security

More police officers will be monitoring this year's Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa after two soldiers were killed on Canadian soil recently in separate cities.

Ottawa police said there will be an increased police presence around the memorialwhere Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot to death the morning ofOct. 22.

A few days earlier, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent died after he was run over by a car in a parking lot in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que.

Thousands gather at the war memorial every year on Nov. 11 to pay their respects to veterans.
