1 person dead after vehicle crashes into rocks, catches fire near Papineauville, Que.

A single-vehicle crash left one person dead on Highway 50 near Papineauville, Que., early Thursday morning.

It happened on a rampnear Highway 321, just north of Papineauville, at about 5 a.m.

Police say a vehicle hit a rock wall on the ramp and burst into flames. The lone person who was in the vehicle died.

The cause of the crash is so far unknown.

Highway 50's westbound on- and off-ramps are closed.
