Residents of Rideau-Vanier have to choose from four candidates in the upcoming election, including the incumbent.

Rideau-Vanier has a population of 49,378 people living in 28,317 homes.

Residents of Rideau-Vanier will choose between four candidates in the upcoming election, including the incumbent.

MathieuFleury was elected to represent the ward in 2010, and won again in 2014 with 51 per cent of the vote.

Candidates who did not provide a website when they registered do not have links to their campaigns.

Many people in Vanier continue to oppose citycouncil's decision to approve Salvation Army's 350-bed homeless shelter on Montreal Road. They're appealing the decision, and every candidate in the ward promises to fight its construction. Other issues in Vanier include a lack of rapid transit, community policing and revitalizing the ByWardMarket.
