Some Ritchie Street residents and neighbours say police should be doing more to stop crime there.

This past summer, a man was shot in the leg in broad daylight.

And in 2013, a year earlier, 24-year-old Malik Adjokatcher was shot to death in front of a home on the street.

Police have not yet made an arrest in either case.

Rev. Terry Orchard at Britannia Baptist Church is fed up with the violence and organized a walk on Sunday to bring attention to it.

He says that if police don't increase security, he plans on filing an official complaint with the chief of Ottawa police.

A local community association disagrees, saying the neighbourhood is a safe place to live.
