The city's medical officer of health believes that immunization levels among students in the city are high something that should be confirmed when an update is brought to the Board of Health in June.

"We're very pleased with the progress to date," Dr. Isra Levy told councillors Wednesday morning.

Last month, Ottawa Public Health finished combing through 150,000 student immunization records at the city's four school boards after realizing that 63,000 of them were out of date.

Late last year, hundreds of students in Ottawa were suspended due to out-of-date immunization records.
