Showcase of Canadian musicians at Winterlude 2016

Sub-Zero Concert Series features six acts who will be performing at 7:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday on the Confederation Park stage.

A Tribe Called Red, Gregory Charles and Whitehorse among artists taking stage at Confederation Park

Gliding along the skateway, slippingdown giant snow slides and wandering through a palace of ice sculptures are all partof the Winterlude experience.

And another big part of Winterlude this year is music and dance to keep the crowds warm when the sun goes down.

Canadian musicians will take the stage in Confederation Park at 7:30 p.m. throughout the weekends of Winterlude which runs from Jan. 29 to Feb. 15 this year.

Artists performing at Winterlude 2016

  • Friday Jan. 29: Quebec singer songwriter Gregory Charles will launch the festival along with the percussion ensemble Insolita.
  • Jan. 30,2016: A Tribe Called Red, Ottawa's dynamicgroup of three aboriginal DJs, will deliver their mix of electronic and traditional music.

  • Feb. 5,2016: Hamilton'sTerra Lightfoot (no relation to Gordon)has been busyon tour opening for Blue Rodeo. The talented singer songwriter with a distinctly rock vibe brings her band to Confederation Park.
  • Feb. 6,2016: Electro-jazz-hip-hop-rock group Misteur Valaire from Sherbrooke, Quebec.
  • Feb. 12,2016: Ottawa's theHilotrons are well known for their high energy alternative rock and dance grooves.
  • Feb. 13,2016: The husband and wife duo Whitehorse, Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland, make beautiful country infused folk music together.
