A young Ottawa woman has been identified as the victim ofFridays hit-and-run involving a transport truckin downtown Ottawa.

Yvonne Hendrikx, an employee of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, was struck and killed as she walked down Rideau Street near Waller Street around 6 a.m. Friday.

Police are still looking for a B-Train transport truck, which is a truck pulling two trailers.

People in the area on Tuesday repeated the message heard Friday that they're worried by trucks cutting the corner at the intersection.

Area councillor Mathieu Fleury said he's hopeful plans for a truck tunnel can come together quickly.

"It's a 15-month study but obviously what we want is not to engage in a 10-year process, but to really get into a period of 12 to24 months where we can turn around and have a true solution to this really Ottawa-specific issue," he said.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa Police collisions unit at 613-236-1222 extension 2481.

An online obituary said Hendrikxis survived by her parents Cornel and Gina and her boyfriend, Dr. Daniel MacDonald.

Amemorial service is scheduled for Thursday.
