200 gather to protest 'Plan B' highway project

About 200 gathered in front of P.E.I.'s Legislature Saturday afternoon to express upset over how the province is handling people's opposition to the Trans-Canada Highway realignment project.

About 200 gathered in front of P.E.I.'s Legislature Saturday afternoon to expressoutrage over how the province is handling people's opposition to the Trans-Canada Highway realignment project.

Fridayfour people were charged with trespassing as they tried to block harvesting equipment from clearing trees for the new stretch of road.

Saturday's demonstration was dubbed, "the death of democracy."

Both people vying to become the next leader of the provincial NDP were there.
