Feed A Family PEI raises $64,772.85; receives 2,550 turkeys

Throughout December, CBC stations across the East Coasthelped to support local food banks through the CBC Warm Hearts campaign.

Part of this campaign is CBC PEI's Feed A Family. It helped to raise $64,772.85 and 2,550turkeys were donated. The PEI Potato Farmers donated 10 lbs of potatoes for every turkey.

Charlottetown's Receiver Coffee contributed $10 from every bag of Island Morning Brew sold this holiday season and were able to provide $10,000 through this year's effort.

On Friday, Dec. 13,Island Morning hosts Laura Chapin and Mitch Cormier broadcast live from Founders' Food Hall Market. The audience enjoyed music by Mi'kmaq elder Junior Peter-Paul, the AmabileChoir, the West Kent Elementary School Choir and Paper Lions.
