Condo development on Charlottetown golf course proposed

The City of Charlottetown held a public meeting Wednesday night on a proposed new condo development on a piece of land along the fourth hole of the Belvedere Golf Club.

City officials say developer HanmacInc. wants to build three, six-unit condo buildings located on the course, behind the Co-op Food Market.

The piece of property would have to be rezoned from open space to medium residential.

Some people at the meeting who live near the proposed developmentraised concerns about traffic problems on Kensington Road.

The application will go back to the city's planning board next week for review.

The board will make a recommendation to council for the meeting on May 12.
