Dr. Herb Dickieson on leave from family practice

Dr. Herb Dickieson has taken a temporary leave of absence from his family practice at the O'Leary Health Centre.

Health PEI said in a news release the doctor plans to return to his practice November 2.

Dickieson is running as a candidate for the New Democratic Party in thefederal riding of Egmont.

NDP officials said he is taking time away from his practice to concentrate on the federal election campaign.

Health PEI says nurse practitioners and family doctors will take on Dickieson's current patient load during his leave.
