P.E.I. records 1 flu-related death so far this season

P.E.I. has seen one flu-related death this season an elderly man with other health issues, according to Health PEI officials.

There have been six lab-confirmed cases of the flu on P.E.I. this season, officials say, including three hospitalizations.

Health official say the lab-confirmed cases indicate influenza is circulating as not everyone is tested for influenza.

The Island is seeing the expected number of flu cases for this time of year, and that number will likely increase in the coming weeks.

Health officials remind Islanders that it is not too late to get a flu vaccine.
