Governments drop $3M on Holland College in western P.E.I.

The governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island announced money for infrastructure improvements at Holland College Friday morning.

3 western campuses receive funding from federal, provincial governments

The governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island announced money for infrastructure improvements at Holland College Friday morning.

The money is earmarked for campuses in western P.E.I.

The college will receive $1,341,392, with contributions split evenly between the province and Ottawa, for upgrades to the Waterfront Campus in Summerside.

Another $1,342,800, again with contributions split evenly, will go to the Canadian Centre for Public Safety Excellence at the Slemon Park campus.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) is contributing $297,428 through its business development program to help establish a new industry-focused centre for safety training at the West Prince campus in Alberton.

The total funding is $2,981,620.
