Lynn Crawford, Mark McEwan highlight Fall Flavours

The P.E.I. Fall Flavours Festival announced its lineup of chefs and events Thursday.

The 2014 festival will feature some recurring favourite events, such as the Chef on Board dinner on Northumberland Ferries and the Shellfish Festival, and new events such as Feast of the Fathers.

Feast of the Fathers is presented in partnership with the P.E.I. 2014 festivities, celebrating the 150th anniversary meeting of the Fathers of Confederation in Charlottetown. The event will featurea meal and atmosphere that recreates parts of the 1864 conference.

"Chef Lynn Crawford is going to be at that one," said Austin Clement, chair of the P.E.I. Culinary Alliance.

"We are going to be celebrating an event that will focus on what life would have been like for those Fathers of Confederation who came and experienced Prince Edward Island for the first time."

Fall Flavours runs from Sept. 6 to 28 at venues across the province. Tickets go on sale in June.
