Work on two roundabouts that are part of the Cornwall bypass to the west of Charlottetown starts Tuesday, along with a number of other major highway projects.

Traffic will be diverted around the Maypoint intersection construction site using temporary routes, while two-way traffic will be directed through the construction site at Poplar Island.

Drivers should expect delays.

The work is expected to be finished by mid- to late-November.

Construction on Route 1 in Mount Mellick will also get started as crews realign the Village Green and Pownal roads.

There'll be two-way, one-lane traffic near the Waterside Road during the project.

A little further east, paving will begin to widen Route 4 near Cardigan and Roseneath.

That work is being done a short distance from the Pooles Corner roundabout.

Traffic personnel will be in place to direct vehicles in both areas.
