P.E.I.'s finance minister has called for a meeting of the four Atlantic cabinet ministers responsible for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation.

Allen Roach says they need to discuss findings from the critical report released this week from the provinces' auditors general.

"I think the key thing for me is process," he said. "We need to work through the process, government interaction with ALC. The auditors general obviously pointed out that that could be improved, and we will certainly be moving in that direction."

Salary increases without consultation

One of the issues he wants to speak about is that ALC executives were given significant salary increases without consulting the provinces.

He also wants to speak with his counterpart in New Brunswick over concerns ALC management did not share information on risks associated with an $8-million investment in the company behind Geosweep.

P.E.I. is a shareholder in ALC along with other three Atlantic provinces.
