Anne of Green Gables' recent foray onto the screen will continue with two more instalments.

Breakthrough Entertainment released the first episode this year.

The first episode covered only a portion of the first of eight books that L. M. Montgomery wrote about Anne Shirley, the Nova Scotia orphan who found herself on the doorstep of an aging brother and sister running a farm in the fictional village of Avonlea, P.E.I.

The two new episodes, featuring Ella Ballentine as Anne, Martin Sheen as Matthew and Sara Botsford as Marilla, will pick up where the first episode left off, around Anne's 13th birthday.

The second episode will go under the title of Good Stars, and the third, Fire & Dew, will see Anne head off to school in Charlottetown. Those episodes will be released in 2017 and 2018.
