COVID-19 on P.E.I.: What's happening Wednesday, Sept. 2

'The good thing about Prince Edward Island is we start at net-zero. We're going into a school year without cases, without community spread,' says acting director of the Public Schools Branch Norbert Carpenter.

Ridership onNorthumberland Ferries is climbing after dropping 70 per cent in July compared to the previous year.

The province has announced there will be a further easing ofrestrictions on Oct. 1.

Starting Thursday, Islanders testing negative for COVID-19 will be able togettheir results online.

P.E.I. has confirmed a total of 44cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, with no deaths or hospitalizations. There are no active cases on the Island, public health officials said on Tuesday.
