'I haven't felt that my vote's counted': Electoral reform committee in Charlottetown

Prince Edward Islanders had the chance Thursday to voice their opinion on federal electoral reform.

People are being invited to share their thoughts at open mic sessions.

Patrick Reid,32, says he'svoted in every election since he was eligible, but doesn't feel like that is making a difference.

"Honestly, in each one of those, I haven't felt that my vote's counted," said Reid.

"In the particular direction that I was voting I've lived in several different places and several different ridings and every single time I just felt like I may as well, I always showed up but I may as well not have."

Reid said he was motivated to share his experiences because he wants a system where he'll feel like his vote counts.

The Special Committee on Electoral Reform continues its meetings Friday in Fredericton.
