P.E.I.-N.S. ferry service expected to resume Sunday

Ferry service between Caribou, N.S., and Wood Islands, P.E.I., is expected to resume Sunday at 8 a.m. Ferry service between the two provinces has been cancelled since Thursday.

Ferry service between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia is expected to resume Sunday morning.

The announcement was made on Saturday in an email from Northumberland Ferries Ltd. The email saidserviceisexpected to resume at 8:00 a.m. from Caribou, N.S.

The MV Confederation has been out of service since Thursday due to electrical problems. The other ferry that sails between Caribou, N.S., and Wood Islands, P.E.I., the MV Holiday Island has been out of service all summer while undergoing upgrades in Quebec.

The Holiday Island is getting closer to returning to service, according to an official with Northumberland Ferries.
