Meaghan Blanchard is "not ready to scrape ice."

The P.E.I. singer-songwriter pays tribute to the Dixie Chicks' Grammy-award winning song Not Ready to Make Nicein a new parody.

"Last night as I scraped ice off of my little blue car, feeling the winter blues; a Dixie Chicks song came to mind. I tweeted about it, some friends tweeted back and we wrote this song," Blanchard posted on her Facebook page.

"Excuse the rough video and the out of tune guitar. I literally walked in from outside and recorded it. Here's a laugh for you today!"

In the parody, Blanchard sings, "I'm not ready to scrape ice, I'm not ready to fall down" in lieu of, "I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready toback down."

She goes on to sing she'll be ready to eat "storm chips and Bailey's till I am dead."

"A lot of people in the States don't quite get it," Blanchard told CBC RadioMainstreet host Karen Mair, adding she's happy the song is being shared on social media by "my Canadian friends who are feeling the same way;it's nice 'cause we're all in this together."
