The P.E.I. economy saw more full-time employment in November, but overall the employment trends for 2016 are flat, according to figures released Friday by Statistics Canada.

The total number of jobs on the Island has been bouncing around between 71,100 and 71,800 since February, after peaking at 74,300 in October 2015. There were 71,500 jobs in November.

November did, however, see a shift to full-time work, with a gain of 1,200 full-time jobs over October, and a loss of 1,000 part-time jobs.

There were 58,800 full-time jobs on the Island in November.

The unemployment rate was 10.8 per cent, with 8,700 people unemployed.

Nationally the unemployment rate fell slightly, to 6.8 per cent.
