Queen Charlotte students lay poppies at gravesites

Some students from Queen Charlotte School got a real life history lesson Wednesday.

They placedpoppies on the gravesites of about 125 veterans at the People's Cemetery in Charlottetown.

It was part of No Stone Left Alone, a national initiative to honour the sacrifices of men and women in the military.

"I felt like I did something good for someone else, instead of always doing something good for myself," said Grade 8 student Didi Hassan. "It's a beautiful thing just to be able to pay respect to your veterans for helping make this country free."

Thousands of students in nine provinces are taking part in No Stone Left Alone, which leads up to Remembrance Day.
