Two men face charges in St. Roch altercation

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has laid charges in connection with an altercation early Monday morning at a home in St. Roch, P.E.I.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has charged two men in connection with an altercation early Monday morning at a home in St. Roch, P.E.I.

Police said five people drove to the home, and two went in.

Police said there was a struggle over a loaded gun, but no shots were fired.

"Very lucky that no one got shot in this instance," said Cpl. Craig Eveleigh.

Two men face charges related to weapons, assault, uttering threats and robbery.

Both will be in court in Summerside, P.E.I., on Friday.

Other charges possible

Police said charges are also possible against others involved in this incident.

"We don't exactly know one hundred per cent what transpired," saidEveleigh.

"We know that they were invited into the house. We know that the homeowner knew that the people were coming. What transpired exactly in there, the conversations that were had is unknown to us at this point."
