P.E.I.'s snow tunnel man Marcel Landry one year later

It has been one year since P.E.I.'s Marcel Landry became internet famous for digging a tunnel through record snowfall just to get to his car.

Feb. 17, 2015 was the second day of a storm that dropped close to 90 centimetres of snow on P.E.I. and Landrysaid"cabin fever and boredom" inspired him to start shovelling.

One year later, there is hardly any snow outside his Summerside, P.E.I., house.

"It's night and day," he said. "My back doesn't [miss the snow], my shovels don't, but I like winter, I like to have a lot of snow."

Landry was surprised by the fame he gained for shovelling his driveway and the phone calls and e-mails he received from around the world.

Still, he's happy now that his time in the spotlight is over.

"It was fun while it lasted, but it wasn't something that I'd like to take calls everyday about shovelling my driveway," he said.

Landry cautions that winter isn't over yet and a big snowfall could still hit the Island.

But if it does, he won't be shovelling another tunnel.

"I'd have to think of something more original than that. The tunnel has already been done."
