Police investigating armed robbery at Summerside gas station

Summerside Police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in Summerside early Thursday morning.

Police are not disclosing what kind of weapon was used in the robbery.

The incident happened at the Ultramar gas station on Granville Street, just after 3:30 a.m., police said in a release.

No one was injured in the incident, and Sgt. Jason Blacquiere of the Summerside police said it appearsthere were no customers in the store at the time.

The suspect got away with some cigarettes and more than$300 in cash. The suspect came into the store with the victim believing he was customer then begandemanding cash and cigarettes and then drew the weapon, said police.

"There was no physical altercation.The clerk complied with what the suspect wanted, which is what he should have done, and the suspect fled the scene," said Blacquiere.

The suspect is described as a teenage boy around 16 years old. Hewas wearing baggy blue jeans and a black and white hoodie and had acne around his jaw.
