Man stabbed in West Prince, P.E.I. RCMP say

A man was stabbed in western P.E.I. late Wednesday, RCMP said in a news release, and a 22-year-old woman has been arrested.

A man was stabbed in western P.E.I. on Wednesday, RCMP said in a news release, and a woman has been arrested.

Police were called to a home in West Prince at about 11:30 p.m.

An RCMP news releasesaid officers arriving at the scene found a 22-year-old woman who had allegedly stabbed a man who was known to her. He had serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Police located the woman a short distance away from the home and arrested her.

"There is no risk to the public in this incident," saidP.E.I.RCMP Cpl.Gavin Moore. "This is an incident that was isolated between the individuals."

The accused woman is scheduled to appear in court in Summersideon Thursday. The RCMPnews release did not say what charges she faces.
