The owner of the iconic Peter Pan restaurant in the north of Charlottetown says he is not certain if it will ever serve up another burger.

The restaurant, which has lent its name to the intersection where it stands, originally opened in 1958. It closed down last fall and co-owner Anthony Chang is making new plans for the space.

The burger joint does well in the summer, said Chang, but not so well the rest of the year. He plans to tear down the familiar A-frame structure and put up a mall. He has not decided yet if a new Peter Pan will be part of that mall.

Chang owns several businesses around Canada, and told CBC News the Peter Pan restaurant is not currently one of his priorities.
