Province replacing 2 1970s-built bridges

Two P.E.I. bridges built in the 1970s will be replaced the Harding Creek Road Bridge in Clinton and the Rocky Point Bridge in Rocky Point.

There will be detours in place while the new bridges are being built, said Darrell Evans, assistant director of capital projects for the Department of Transportation.

The intention is to completely close both of them. There is just not enough room there to create a temporary bypass structure, said Evans.

Public information sessions will be held on both projects.

The work will begin at the end of May or early June.
