Roundabout planning continues in Charlottetown

Charlottetown will consider building a roundabout from now on whenever work needs to be done on an intersection, says Coun. Terry Bernard.

Charlottetown will consider building a roundabout from now on whenever work needs to be done on an intersection, says Coun. Terry Bernard.

The city is scheduled to open its latest roundabout, on Belvedere Avenue at the Farmers Market, on Monday. Bernard told CBC News there could be another one going in at the east end of Belvedere soon.

"Right now we're considering the Belvedere, Brackley, St. Peter's Road area," said Bernard.

"That's been sent to the consultants and the consultants will come back. They'll do their work, they'll come back and tell us what will work there, how much land needed to be purchased and so on."

The city's first roundabout opened in June on Mount Edward Road. Bernard said things have been going well at that location, and he expects the same at the new one.
