Victoria Park boardwalk in Charlottetown now re-opened

The Victoria Park boardwalk in Charlottetown has now fully re-opened to the public, after major renovations. The work began in September, in the stretch from the swimming pool to Beaconsfield Historic House, about 1.2 kilometres.

Upgrades on boardwalk took two months

The Victoria Park boardwalk in Charlottetown has now fully re-opened to the public, after major renovations.

The work began in September, in the stretch from the swimming pool to BeaconsfieldHistoric House, about 1.2 kilometres.

The 20-year-old boardwalk was at the point it required daily maintenance.

The boardwalk has been widened from eight feet to 10 feet.

Other work includedremovingthe old structure, improvingdrainage, upgrading thedecking, and upgrading the material below and behind the benches.

The work was done in 1,500-foot sections in order to keep most of it open to pedestrians during construction.
