In October people all around the world will sit down together to talk about the best ways to make decision-making more inclusive.

Women's Peace Tables Worldwide was launched in May, and now has events scheduled in 40 different countries. The initiative received a boost Saturday with a launch dinner in Dublin.

It's been amazing how it's taken off.- Susan Hartley

P.E.I. psychologist and peace activist Susan Hartley is co-ordinating the global campaign.

"It's been amazing how it's taken off. And just in the last few days talking to people we've got another five tables," said Hartley.

"It's for the month of October in general, and there's close to 100 peace tables happening."

Women's Peace Tables Worldwide hopes groups from book clubs to governments will get involved.

Research around the world, said Hartley, has shown that communities and economies are healthier when women are included in decision making and peace negotiations.
