12 heat records broken in Saskatchewan

Hot weather records are being broken all over Saskatchewan this week, with 13 heat records broken on Monday and 12 broken on Tuesday.

Hot weather records are being broken all over Saskatchewan this week, with 13 heat records broken on Monday and 12 broken on Tuesday.

Not only is it hot, it's humid tooEnvironment Canada has issued humidex warnings for Saskatoon and other regions.

The hot spot in the province Tuesday is in the Town of Coronach, where the temperature hit 36.1 C. That wasn't quite hot enough to break the record for that day of 36.9 C set in 2006.

But it was abig contrast to the coldest recorded temperature in the province on Tuesday12.7 C in Stony Rapids.

The hottest place in Canada was in Garden River, Alta., reaching a high of36.7 C.

Twelve records fell in Saskatchewan Tuesday and three records were matched.

The highest temperature record broken was in Maple Creek at 34.9 C, up from 32.1 C in 2006.
