3 people escape from burning home in North Central Regina

Fire destroyed a house in North Central Regina early Tuesday, but three people were able to get out safely.

Fire destroyed a house in North Central Regina early Tuesday, but three people were able to get out safely.

The blaze at 864 Rae St. was reported around 1:30 a.m. CST, and fire crews were on scene four and a half minutes later.

Acting Deputy Chief DwaineDavidson said the blaze was heaviest in the front portion of the house, and spread through the main floor into the basement.

Police evacuated aneighbouring house as well as the fire spread. The neighbour told CBC News that he, his girlfriend, their three-week old baby girl and two dogs managed to get out safely.

The cause hasn't been identified yet, but a neighbour told CBC News a couch at the front of the home had been set on fire.

A fire investigator is looking into the case.
