Packed house at CBC's Comfort and Joy event in Regina

It was standing room only Friday at Comfort and Joy, CBC Saskatchewan's open house in support of food banks, at the broadcast centre in Regina.

News, interviews, music and more all to raise money for food banks

It was standing room only Friday at Comfort and Joy, CBC Saskatchewan'sOpen Housein support of food banks, at the broadcast centre in Regina.

Dozens of people came down to theGalleria, filling all the available tables, with some helping themselves to the treats and coffee.

The live broadcast of CBC Radio's The Morning Editionran6-8:30 a.m. CST andfeatured timely news and interviews, as well as performances by Alex Runions.

CBC intern BradBellegarde, who is an accomplished rap artist, wasfeatured on the program with an original song created by audience-suggested words.

Another highlight was theannual gift suggestions for politiciansmade by Regina Leader-Post columnist MurrayMandrykand CBC legislative reporterStefaniLangenegger.

Langenegger drew laughs with talking dolls that recited question period talking points, while Mandryk unveiled a Saskatchewan politics version of the Survivor board game.

Renowned artist Wilf Perreaultdesignedspecial coffee mugs, which wereoffered for sale for $20. By the end of the event, they were completely sold out.Proceeds will be donated to the food bank.
