Regina McDonald's closed for cleaning after employee case of COVID-19

A McDonald's restaurant in Regina has been shut down for cleaning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The worker at the restaurant at 2620 Dewdney Avenue reported their positive test result to their employer on Monday.

Their most recent shift at the restaurant was on Oct. 31 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party," said a news release from McDonalds Canada.

A list of possible exposure locations released by theSaskatchewan Health Authorityon Monday included seven communities in the province.

Anyone who wasat these locations on the specified dates and times is asked to self-monitor for 14 days. Anyonewho shows symptoms will need to immediately self-isolate and call HealthLine 811, their physician or nurse practitioner to arrange for testing.

The SHA said it is important to note that symptoms can develop from two to 14 days after exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.
